Easy Steps to Great Search Engine Optimization
If you want to have an internet business that is successful, you
need to ensure that your website ranks well in the top search engines. Of
course, with all the information out there, you may begin to feel like you are
overwhelmed with all that search engine optimization demands of you. The great
news is that it doesn't have to be that difficult for you. Here are some easy
steps that anyone can use for great search engines optimization.
Step #1 - Give Your Webpage a Good Title
One of the first steps to take for great search engine optimization is to make
sure you give your webpage a good title. Your title should be compact and very
clear and it needs to relate to your webpage theme as well. Keep the title basic
and focus on the main theme of your page. It's a good idea to use some keywords
here as well.
Step #2 - Using the <H1> Tag
Another step is to make sure that you use the <H1> tag, which will let search
engines know what this page is about. The data within this tag is taken
seriously by the search engines, and you need to put this at the top of each
page. Only your main theme for the page should be included within this tag.
Step #3 - Make Use of the Written Words
It is important that you make use of the written words on your page. You need to
take that main theme, or keyword phrase, and then use it multiple times on your
webpage. However, this doesn't mean you should throw it in anywhere and keyword
stuff your website. It should go with the flow of your writing and you don't
want to use it too often. It's a good idea to use bold, underlining, and italics
to help emphasize the use of keywords on your page as well.
Step #4 - Work on Incoming Links
Now it's a good idea to get some incoming links coming into your website. Other
people need to be linking to your site if you are going to rank well within
search engines. If you don't have incoming links, your website will perform very
poorly in the search engines. Not sure how to get these incoming links? One way
is to submit your site to directories, but make sure they have good page rank.
Purchasing some text links may help, and doing some link research can help you
find places where you can get incoming links as well.
Step #5 - Remember Anchor Text
When you do get new incoming links to your website, try to make sure that they
use anchor text. The anchor text should be one of the keyword phrases to your
website. When links include your theme, it provides better results. However, if
this isn't possible, don't rule out incoming links that don't use anchor text.
